ARESTADO sa mga operatiba mula sa Bureau of Immigration (BI) Fugitive Search Unit (FSU) ang isang 48-anyos na Amerikano na wanted sa New York dahil sa  sex-related crime sa menor de edad.

Ayon sa report ni BI FSU Chief Rendel Sy, si Francisco Loreno ay inaresto noong Huwebes ng umaga sa isang hotel sa Ortigas, Mandaluyong City, sa bisa ng mission order na inisyu ni BI Commissioner Jaime Morente.

Inihayag ng BI, ang order ay inilabas matapos makatanggap ng impormasyon kaugnay sa nasabing kaso ni Loreno.

“He is an undesirable alien and poses a risk to public safety, as he is a wanted criminal in the US,” ani Morente.

Isang warrant of arrest ang inisyu laban kay Loreno ng US District Court ng Western District sa New York noong Marso 2019 dahil sa paglabag sa New Jersey Code of Criminal Justice, kaugnay sa umano’y pagmolestiya sa isang 13-anyos na dalagita.

“Fugitives, especially those wanted for crimes against minors, are not welcome in our country,” ayon pa kay Morente.

“We will make sure that these kinds of aliens are deported and banned from setting foot in the Philippines,” dagdag pa niya.

Si Loreno ay pansamantalang nakakulong sa BI’s warden facility sa Taguig City habang nakabinbin ang kanyang deportasyon. (JOEL O. AMONGO)
