“My heart leaped with gladness when the president ordered to fast-track all the rehabilitation efforts to Marawi. I am one with the Maranaos who have been ardently praying for their return home. We have been waiting for its realization for the past four years. The people have waited long enough,” saad ng mambabatas.

“With the President’s pronouncements yesterday during his final SONA, we are hopeful that Task Force Bangon Marawi will be doubling its efforts to heed PRRD’s directives to race against time and finish the necessary work to rehabilitate and rebuild Marawi from the ground up.”

“It is a statement of fact that this administration made sure that the Bangsamoro Organic Law be passed. PRRD even certified it as an urgent piece of legislation. This Administration didn’t put to waste the number of years spent chasing after a dream of lasting peace and sustainable development in the region. As a Mindanaoan like the President, we share the same sentiment and aspiration that the Bangsamoro region one day be liberated from insurgencies that caused nothing else but generations of misery, poverty, and deaths,” ani Sangcopan.

“I must admit that I am among those who waited for what is the President’s statement on the resetting of election in the BARMM. The absence of it, however, for me, signifies that the president is leaving it up to Congress to decide the fate of the extension of the transition period. As legislators, it is incumbent upon us that we first exhaust all means to understand the need of the extension before we pass judgment,” giit pa ni Sangcopan. (CESAR BARQUILLA)
