‘EFFICIENT AND RESPONSIVE SERVICE’ IPINAGKALOOB SA BOC-PORT OF CEBU

Ipinagkalooban ni Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero ng  Certificate of Commendation bilang ‘effective and responsive’ ang Port of Cebu sa isinagawang Collectors’ Conference noong nakaraang Nobyembre 8, 2019.

Ang Certificate of Commendation ay kaugnay sa  ‘Ports efficient and responsive service to the public through its prompt action to various inquiries and communications thereby making the Bureau accessible to the public’.

Kaugnay nito, umaasa si Port of Cebu District Collector Atty. Charlito Martin Mendoza na dahil sa kanilang nakuhang parangal mula kay Commissioner Guerrero na magsisilbi itong inspirasyon sa Port’s employees na lalo pa nilang pagbutihin ang kanilang mga trabaho.

Matatandaan, noong Oktubre 29, 2019 ay nagkaroon ng dayalogo ang BOC kasama ng BOC Stakeholders sa Visayas na pinangunahan ng Port of Cebu.

Ang nasabing okasyon na ginawa sa Bai Hotel, Cebu City ay dinaluhan ng 40 importers at customs brokers na nakikipagtransaksyon sa Port of Cebu, Port of Tacloban at Port of Iloilo.

Tinalakay sa dayalogo ay ang ‘parcel tracking system, accreditation system and the National Value Verification System (NVVS)’ na ipinaliwanag nina Atty. Jenny Diokno ng Container Control Unit (CCU), Mr. Lysander G. Baviera ng Account Management Office (AMO) at Atty. Christopher Inducil ng Import and Assessment Service (IAS).

“Remember that, what we at Customs are mandated to do – maintain balance of trade facilitation and security – is so that you, in the business of international trade, have a fair and safe economic ground to do business. So, let this dialogue be a conversation of partners. Contributing partners for improved trade facilitation. Contributing partners for customs reforms mobilization”, ani District Collector Atty. Charlito Martin R. Mendoza sa kanyang opening remarks.

Nauna rito, noong Oktubre 21,  ang Port of Cebu personnel ay isinailalim sa training kaugnay sa Document Tracking System (DTS) at Customer Care Portal System (CCPS).

Ang DTS ay isang online document status tracking system na kung saan ang stakeholders ay mata-track ang dokumento sa real-time sa pamamagitan ng paggamit ng QR code na hindi kailangan ng personal follow-ups.

Ang nasabing mga pamamaraan ng pagpapabilis ng proseso ng Port of Cebu na may transaksyon sa kanila ay nagresulta ng parangal sa kanila ni Commissioner Guerrero. (Boy Anacta)
