ASSESSMENT SA IMPRASTRUKTURA, IGINIIT

INIREKOMENDA ni Senate Majority Leader Migz Zubiri na magsagawa ang gobyerno ng assessment sa lahat ng imprastraktura upang matukoy kung ligtas ang mga gusali sa pagyanig.

Kasunod ito ng dalawang lindol na tumama sa Mindanao sa nakalipas na tatlong linggo.

Sa rekomendasyon ng senador, iginiit nito na dapat atasan ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) katuwang ang Phivolcs, DILG at mga lokal na pamahalaan na pangunahan ang assessment.

Dapat din anyang alamin kung kinakailangang patatagin ang mga gusali bilang paghahanda sa lindol.

“National government should instruct the NDRRMC together with Phivolcs, DILG and the LGUs to do a thorough assessment of all the infrastructures within their localities to check if the buildings and homes are still safe for use and if they may still be strengthened for possible earthquakes in the future,” saad ni Zubiri.

Iginiit pa ng senador na ang lahat ng mga gusali na hindi na makatugon sa building code ay dapat nang abandonahin o ayusin.

Dapat din magkaroon ng malawakang Geo-mapping ng Geo-hazard areas na posibleng tamaan ng  landslides upang mabigyang babala ang mga komunidad na nasa danger zones.

“Implementation of this should be mandatory, as what government has done during the Boracay clean-up. We must take a more proactive stance so that little or no lives are lost during these times of natural calamities,” giit pa ni Zubiri.
