TINAWAG na ‘nuisance’ o panggulo at walang legal na basehan ng Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) ang petisyon na nagnanais na makansela o ma-deny ang Certificate of Candidacy (COC) ng kanilang standard-bearer, Presidential aspirant Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos, Jr.
Para kay PFP General Counsel Atty. George Briones, ang petisyon na inihain ng ilang grupo ay isang desperadong hakbang upang madiskaril ang kandidatura ni Marcos bilang Presidente para sa susunod na halalan.
Tinawag din ni Briones na isa lang “scrap of paper” ang petisyon dahil hindi isinama ng mga petitioner ang certified true copy ng pinal na paghatol na magpapatunay na si Marcos ay guilty sa isang krimen na kinapapalooban ng moral turpitude. Dagdag pa niya, bago payagan ng Comelec na magtuloy ang petisyon at hingan ng komento ang respondent [Marcos], dapat muna nilang hingin sa mga petitioner ang dokumentong ito.
“Before the Comelec gives due course to the petition and requires the respondent to answer or comment to the petition, they must at the very least order the petitioners to attach a certified true copy of this final judgment to their petition. For how can the respondent intelligently answer the petition, if the judgment upon which the allegation was based is not even attached to it?” tanong ni Briones.
“Clearly, this petition is just a nuisance,” dagdag pa niya.
“Since the penalty or penalties you are looking for in the decision of the Court of Appeals (CA) are not there, then former Senator Ferdinand Marcos, Jr. is eligible to be a candidate for President and did not commit a crime involving moral turpitude. That CA decision has long been final. It is now immutable and cannot be changed to favor this nuisance suit,” paglilinaw pa ni Atty. Briones.
Samantala, sinabi ni Atty. Vic Rodriguez, chief of staff ni Marcos, na ang petisyon na sinampa laban sa Presidential aspirant ay parte lamang ng maruming pulitika na pilit ibinabato ng kaniyang mga kalaban.
“Kitang-kita ng sambayanang Pilipino na patuloy ang pang-aapi ng iba’t ibang grupong dilawan kay Presidential aspirant Bongbong Marcos,” saad niya.
“Let’s not play along the propaganda line of the yellow-wannabe political assassins,” dagdag ni Rodriguez.
