AABOT sa P1.5 na milyon araw araw ang mawawalang kita ng Light Rail Transit 2 dahil sa pagsasara sa tatlong istasyon nito, partikular ang Santolan, Katipunan at Anonas.
“For the loss of income, we are incurring around P3.2 million everyday for the whole line stoppage. But the moment we start the partial ops on Monday and Tuesday, we estimate that the financial losses would go down around P1.5 million daily,” sinabi ni LRT Spokesperson Hernando Cabrera.
Isasara ng LRTA ang 3 istasyon sa loob ng 9 na buwan kasunod ng nangyaring sunog sa power transformer nito noong Thursday.
Natigil ang operasyon nito at napilitang bumaba ang mga sakay na pasahero.
Aminado si Cabrera na matatagalan ang pagsasara dahil kailangan pa na bumili ng spare parts sa abroad.
“Most of the major components of the damaged system come from abroad, specifically the UK, France and Japan. We have to follow some procurement process, though we have already initiated what we can an emergency procurement procedure,” ani Cabrera.
“We have to take into consideration the fact that the items that we would be requiring are not off-the-shelf items. They will have to be customized for our system. So this will take time,” dagdag nito.
Sinabi ni public relations manager Lyn Janeo na ang operations sa istasyon ng Cubao papunta ng Recto at pabalik ay magsisimula sa susunod na linggo.
Sinabi ni Cabrera na ang bumababa sa tatlong isinarang istasyon ay sasakay sa mga bus na dadalhin sila sa Cubao.
