PALASYO NAKATUON SA MANDATORY VACCINATION

MAAARING katigan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang Inter-Agency Task Force kung magdedesisyon itong gawing mandatory ang COVID-19 vaccination sa bansa sa gitna ng banta ng Omicron COVID-19 variant.

“As a worker of government also in charge of the overall operations of the government, I may agree with the task force [Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases] if they decide to make it mandatory,” ayon kay Pangulong Duterte.

“It’s actually to protect public health… In some countries mandatory na, dito maingay ang human rights. Now, kung ayaw mo, ‘wag kang lumabas,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Aniya pa, maaari niyang pilitin ang mga Pilipino na magpabakuna sa ilalim ng “police power of the state.”

Ipinanukala naman ni Interior Secretary Eduardo Año ang pagpapatupad ng mas pinahigpit na vaccination rules.

“Hindi natin ima-mandatory but at least, we’ll make it harder for them to live while there’s a pandemic. It’s because of mutations, kung hindi ma-achieve ang herd immunity,” ayon kay Año.

Aniya, may ilang local government units sa bansa ang nagdeklara nang gawing mandatory ang pagbabakuna. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
