NAKAHANDANG pakilusin ng Philippine National Police ang kanilang PNP-Maritime Group upang suportahan ang Philippine Coast Guard at Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources sa kanilang maritime patrols sa West Philippine Sea.
Kinumpirma ni PNP Chief Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar na hinirang ng pamahalaan ang PNP upang tumulong sa maritime law enforcement patrols sa rehiyon na mayaman sa aquatic and marine resources.
“The PNP, specifically the Maritime Group, is ready to provide assistance and augment personnel from the PCG and BFAR in enforcing maritime laws on the West Philippine Sea and our Exclusive Economic Zone,” ani PGEN Eleazar.
“Despite our limitations when it comes to resources, we will make sure that it will not discourage and prevent us from asserting and fighting for what is ours,” dagdag pa nito.
Sinabi ni Gen. Eleazar na sila ay nakikipag-ugnayan sa National Task Force for the West Philippine Sea, PCG at BFAR kung ano ang magiging papel ng PNP Maritime Group bagamat aminado ang PNP na limitado lamang ang kanilang mga kagamitan.
“Malaki na po ang magagawa ng sama-sama nating presensya. Maganda po na mas maraming awtoridad ang nandoon para maipakita natin na nagkakaisa tayo at ipinaglalaban ang ating karapatan sa West Philippine Sea. (JESSE KABEL)
