ISINASAGAWA na ang joint maritime at air patrols sa West Philippine Sea sa pagitan ng Pilipinas at Estados Unidos.

Sa post ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa kanyang social platform X, winika nito na ang mga nasabing patrolya ay “collaborative effort between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the United States Indo-Pacific Command” sa naturang lugar.

“This significant initiative is a testament to our commitment to bolster the interoperability of our military forces in conducting maritime and air patrols,” ayon sa Pangulo sa kanyang naging post sa social media platform na X (dating Twitter).

“These joint patrols are part of a series of events agreed upon by the Mutual Defense Board – Security Engagement Board (MDB-SEB) of both nations. I am confident that this collaboration will contribute to a more secure and stable environment for our people,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Ang pagpapatrulya ayon sa Pangulo ay magpapatuloy hanggang Nobyembre 23.

“The joint maritime and air patrols would start in the area off the Batanes islands and head west to the South China Sea,” ayon sa kalatas ng Philippine military.

Sinasabi pa na magde-deploy ang Pilipinas ng tatlong navy vessels, dalawang FA-50 light combat aircraft at isang A-29B Super Tucano light attack plane, habang ang Estados Unidos naman ay magmo-mobilize ng isang littoral combat ship at isang P9-A maritime patrol at reconnaissance aircraft.

Samantala, kababalik lamang ni Pangulong Marcos mula sa Estados Unidos matapos ang kanyang working visit doon.

Siya ang itinuturing na unang Pangulo na bumisita sa US Indo-Pacific Command headquarters sa Hawaii.
