MAGHAHANAP ng paraan si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. para tulungan ang Social Security System (SSS) na maging mas ‘efficient and productive.’

“As your president, I assure you that I commit myself to every initiative that will improve the efficiency and productivity of the SSS and thereby improve the lot and welfare of our people,” ang bahagi ng talumpati ni Pangulong Marcos sa 65th anniversary celebration ng SSS na idinaos sa Ramon Magsaysay Hall ng SSS sa East Avenue, Quezon City.

Sinabi pa rin ng Pangulo sa kanyang keynote speech na “With a strong, stable, and secure SSS, I see a better and brighter future not only for its members but also for the entire country.”

Itinatag ang SSS noong Setyembre 1, 1975 sa bisa ng Social Security Act of 1954 na naglalayong magsilbi bilang government financial institution na magbibigay ng social security protection sa lahat ng manggagawang Pilipino.

Sa loob aniya ng anim na dekada, ang SSS ay naging “bastion of stability for every Filipino in the private sector.”

“And the SSS has done this by empowering our employees with equitable and world-class protection, ensuring that they will have a safety net during life’s most difficult moments,” wika ng Pangulo.

“It is only fitting that as we look back at the rich history of the SSS, we highlight the achievements, your achievements in expanding membership coverage, providing enhanced benefits, improving your service capabilities to your stakeholders, and all the other services and products that you provide,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Pinuri naman ng Punong Ehekutibo ang mga opisyal at empleyado ng SSS para sa kanilang ‘hard work’ at dedikasyon na tiyakin ang ‘stability at reliability’ ng institusyon.

Pinatunayan aniya ng SSS na ang gobyerno ay “always ready and reliable, no matter what the circumstances [are].”

Pinuri rin ng Chief Executive ang napapanahong implementasyon ng mga programa ng SSS kabilang na ang Contribution Subsidy Provider Program, Flexible Payment Scheme for Fishermen and Farmers, the Contribution Penalty Condonation Program, at Consolidated Loan Program.

Layon nito, ayon sa SSS na magampanan ang kanilang mandato na magbigay ng safety nets at garantiya sa mamamayang {ilipino lalo na iyong nasa mahirap na sitwasyon.

Kumpiyansang sinabi naman ng Punong Ehekutibo na ipagpapatuloy ng SSS na maging mahusay na kinatawan at bigyang halaga ang “best interest” ng mga Pilipino. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
