P2-B IMPORTED FAKE GOODS NASABAT

Aabot ng  P2 bilyon  counterfeit goods ang nasabat ng  pinagsanib na puwer­sa ng Bureau of Customs-Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (BOC-CIIS), BOC-Intelligence Property Rights Division (IPRD) at Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Joint Task Force NCR-CL sa isinagawang pagsalakay sa iba’t ibang storage units sa Binondo, Maynila noong Hulyo 16, 2019.

Isinagawa ang pagsalakay sa naturang lugar  sa  bisa na rin ng Letter of Authority (LOA) na nilagdaan ni Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero.

Kabilang sa mga nasabat ay  ang mga pekeng brand  ng  Nike,  Emporio Armani, Hello Kitty, Swissgear, Iron Man, Louis Vuitton, Anello, Kylie makeup, Active White, Clinique, MAC makeup, Dior, Champion, Fila, Adidas, Supreme, Kate Spade, Long Champ, Air Jordan, Kojic soap set, Victoria Secret, Glutamax soap, Titan gel, Aveeno, Lacoste, Kipling, Columbia, HP, Coach, YSL, Fendi, Hermes, Socks Iconic, Giordano, Abercrombie & Fitch, Polo, Michael Kors, Marc Jacobs, Charles & Keith, G-Shock, Johnsons & Johnsons, Samsonite, Samsung, Casio, Rolex, Guess, Alba, Edifice, Batman, Levi’s, Herschel, Ben10, Bulgari, Hugo, Dolce & Gabbana, Cars, Sofia the First, Usi, Mickey Mouse, NBA, Chanel, Coach, Gucci, The North Face, SpongeBob, Pikachu, Pan Patrol, Super Mario, TRESemme, Dove, Vaseline, Sunsilk, Badboy, Cetaphil, Prulife Atlas, Rexona, Vans, Converse, Golden State, Prada, Fred Perry, La­kers, Dora, Pokemon, Ponds, Revlon, Seven Friday, Oakley, Balenciaga.

Ang mga nasabat na items ay may paglabag sa  Republic Act (RA) 8293, o mas kilala sa tawag na Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines at Section 118 ng  Customs Modernization and Tariff Act (CMTA).

Nag-ugat ang operas­yon  base sa  information and complaint mula sa  Baranda & Associates na may iba’t ibang  imported counterfeit products na nakaimbak sa loob ng  storage units.

“The Bureau of Customs is relentless in its drive against smuggling of fake products in order to protect legitimate businesses that are diligent in paying duties and taxes that is due the government,” ayon naman kay  Deputy Commissioner Raniel T. Ramiro of the Intelligence Group.

Samantala, pinuri naman ng Optical Media Board and the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines ang BOC dahil sa pagkakasabat nito ng  mga nabanggit na  kontrabando.

Patuloy  naman ang pagsisikap ng ahensya  na tupdin ang kanilang mandato  partikular ang hanga­ring mapataas ang revenue collection nito gayundin ang pagsunod sa kautusan ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na wakasan na ang  korapsyon sa ahensya tungo na rin sa paglago at pag-usad ng  ekonomiya ng bansa.
