PINANGUNAHAN ng mga pinuno ng Port of Cebu (POC) at ng Port of Surigao (POS) ang pagbabahagian ng “best practice” sa larangan ng Customs management at operation.
Sa isinagawang “Governance Sharing” nitong Martes, sina POC District Collector Charlito Martin R. Mendoza at POS District Collector Jonah Herbert P. Dollano of the Port of Surigao ay nagbahagi ng kani-kanilang mga mensahe at paliwanag hinggil sa mga magagandang nagawa nila sa kani-kanilang nasasakupan.
Kapwa naniniwala sina Martinez at Dollano na “the platform provides opportunity for both Ports to fill in their respective operational knowledge gaps and improve their processes through application of tested practices”.
“Our common aim is to make our processes faster and more efficient to save time and trouble addressing avoidable mistakes and develop effective solutions to better serve our stakeholders.
Through this forum, we hope to bring to the table insights on what we do best here in the Port of Cebu and likewise learn from the Port of Surigao its arsenal of best strategies on good governance”, paliwanag ni Mendoza.
Idiniin naman ni Dollano ang madalas na banggitin ni Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero na ang: “trade facilitation with enforcement and not trade facilitation with accommodation”.
Naniniwala ang punong opisyal sa Port of Surigao na kailangan ang kooperasyon ng lahat ng daungang pinangangasiwaan ng Bureau of Customs (BOC).
