PAGBIBIGAY NG HIWALAY NA INSENTIBO KAY HIDILYN, IKINUKONSIDERA NG SENADO

PINAG-AARALAN na ng Senado ang pagbibigay ng hiwalay na insentibo kay Olympic Gold Medalist Hidilyn Diaz.

Sinabi ni Senate President Vicente ‘Tito’ Sotto III na pinag-aaralan na ng kanilang tanggapan kung magkano ang maaaring ibigay kay Diaz.

Kasabay nito, ipinasa ng Senado ang mga Resolutions na nagbibigay pagkilala kay Air Force Sergeant Hidilyn Diaz dahil sa pagsungkit ng unang gold medal para sa bansa sa Olympics.
Kasama sa inadopt ng Senado ang Senate Resolution Nos. 793, 794, 795, 796, 797, 798, 799, 800, 801, 802, 803, 804 at 805 na inihain nina Sotto at Senators Juan Miguel Zubiri, Bong Go, Bong Revilla, Risa Hontiveros, Franklin Drilon, Lito Lapid, Nancy Binay, Richard Gordon, Imee Marcos, Joel Villanueva, Manny Pacquiao at Pia Cayetano.

Sa kanyang sponsorship speech, kinilala ni Sotto ang dedikasyon, sakripisyo at self-discipline ni Hidilyn upang makamit ang kanyang Olympic goal kung saan nagsanay pa ito at nag-exile sa Malaysia simula nooong February 2020.

“Hidilyn’s win is being celebrated not only it is historic, as the first-ever gold Olympic medal in almost a century, but also because of the fact that it happened in the middle of a pandemic when every move is a struggle and a health-risk, and when we all needed a ray of light,” dagdag ni Sotto.

Sinabi naman ni Recto na ang tagumpay ni Hidilyn ay dumating sa panahon na kapos na ang pagasa para sa mga Pilipino.

“With one lift, she raised the spirits of 110 million people, battered by the pandemic but not beaten, craving for one inspiring story that will break the gloomy monotony of long days looking for jobs and jabs and endless quarantine nights,” saad ni Recto.

Inihayag naman ni Zubiri na hindi na mabubura ang record na itinatak ni Hidilyn.

“She is now in the Chronicles of Philippine History as the First ever Olympic Gold Medalist!!” giit ni Zubiri.

Iginiit naman ni Gordon ang pag-apruba sa resolution na humihiling sa National Historical Commission of the Philippines na maglabas ng commemorative stamps at marker para kay Hidilyn. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
