INILABAS na ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) inter-agency Technical Working Group (TWG) ang opisyal na otorisadong motorcycle taxis, na aabot sa 16,255 driver.
Ito’y base na rin sa pagpasok ng dalawa pang bagong players sa industriya.
Base sa official data na nakuha sa Motorcycle Taxi Pilot Run TWG, ang opisyal at otorisadong bilang ng Angkas ay 7,471 na driver, habang ang bagong ride hailing motorcycle taxis na Joyride ay may 6,907 na driver at ang Move It ay may 1,877.
“This will therefore set the record straight in so far as compliance to the documentary and regulatory requirements of the TWG is concerned, most especially on the need to fully register and declare the names and number of contracted riders by the service providers,” sabi ng DOTR.
Binuo ang TWG para makakuha ng data at malaman ang dami ng drivers sa bawat app.
Pinamumunuan ito ni LTFRB board member Antonio Gardiola Jr., kasama ang representatives mula sa DOTr, Land Transportation Office (LTO), at ng Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (i-ACT).
Wala pang opisyal na pahayag ang Angkas, Joy Ride at Move It habang isinusulat ito.
