P206.5B GUGUGULIN NG BBM ADMIN SA AYUDA SA 2023

NAKATAKDANG gumugol ang gobyerno ng Pilipinas ng P206.5 bilyon para sa mga subsidiya at cash support o ayuda sa darating na taon.

Ito’y dahil na rin sa patuloy na pagtaas ng inflation sa bansa.

Tinukoy ang Department of Budget and Management (DBM), sinabi ni Office of the Press Secretary Officer-in-Charge Cheloy Garafil na sakop ng alokasyon ang cash transfers at iba pang subsidy programs ng gobyerno.

Tinatayang may P165.40 billion ang ilalaan sa social assistance programs ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) at P22.39 billion naman para sa Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially-Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) ng Department of Health (DOH).

Makakukuha naman ang Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) ng P14.39 billion para sa Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program nito, at P2.5 billion para sa fuel subsidies ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) P2.5 billion.

Ang panibagong alokasyon ay P1 billion para sa fuel assistance sa corn farmers at mangingisda sa ilalim ng Department of Agriculture (DA).

Samantala, ang panibagong 2023 budget allocations ay kinabibilangan ng P115.6 billion para sa Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps), P25.3 billion para sa Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens (SPISC), at P4.4 billion para sa Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).

“These cash transfers and other subsidy programs seek “to support vulnerable sectors amid surging commodity prices brought about by global inflation,” ang wika pa ni Garafil.

“Inflation accelerated to a 14-year high of 7.7% in October, driven mainly by higher prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages,” aniya pa rin.

Target naman ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. na tintahan ang panukalang 2023 budget sa kalagitnaan ng December, ayon kay Senate committee on finance Chairperson Juan Edgardo “Sonny” Angara.
