NAKIKIPAGNEGOSASYON na ang National Task Force Against COVID-19 para makabili ng reformulated booster jabs na rekomendado para labanan ang umuusbong na coronavirus variants.

Ang tinaguriang next-generation vaccine boosters ang magpapalawig sa pagiging epektibo ng COVID-19 jabs.

“We are now negotiating for next year as directed by (Department of Finance) Secretary (Carlos) Dominguez with four manufacturers for the introduction of a reformulated booster,” ayon kay NTF Against COVID-19 chief implementer Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr.

Nauna rito, binanggit na ni Galvez na ang gobyerno ay nasa inisyal na kasunduan sa multilateral partners na World Bank, Asian Development Bank, at Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank para sa second wave ng vaccine procurement.

Ang budget na USD45 million o P2.2 bilyon ay pauna nang inilaan para sa 2022 supply na depende sa rekomendasyon ng vaccine experts panel.

Inaasahan naman ni Galvez na mababago pa ang procurement strategies ng pamahalaan dahil may ilang vaccine manufacturers ang posibleng hindi na pumayag sa multi-party agreement (MPA) sa pagbili ng COVID-19 vaccine. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
