SENADO PINAKILOS SA SAP DISTRIBUTION

NAIS paimbestigahan sa Senado ang mabagal na pagkakaloob ng ikalawang cash assistance para sa mga pamilyang labis na naapektuhan ng COVID-19.

Ayon kay Senador Leila De Lima, kailangang kumilos ang Senado kung sino ang may pagkukulang sa pagtugon sa pangangailangan ng taumbayan.

Sinabi pa ni De Lima, chairperson ng Senate Committee on Social Justice, Welfare and Rural Development, na inihain nito ang Senate Bill (SB) No. 441 na nag-aatas sa kinauukulang komite sa Senado na mag-imbestiga sa pamamahagi ng Social Amelioration Program (SAP) na nasa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 11469, o ang “Bayanihan To Heal As One Act.”

“In order for the distribution of the remaining cash aid under the first tranche of the SAP and the cash aid under its second tranche may be facilitated in an expeditious and smooth manner, mechanisms that will respond to the glitches faced in the implementation thereof must be reviewed,” aniya pa.

Noong nakalipas na Marso 30, inihayag ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte na ang P200 bilyong halaga ng tulong ay ilalaan sa mga low income household na higit naapektuhan ng COVID-19 pandemic.

“Glaringly, DSWD who was previously quoted telling LGUs that this is not the time for a blame game, did not mention any culpability on its part in the delay of the implementation of the SAP,” ayon pa sa senador. NOEL ABUEL
