MAS peligro sa mga motorcycle rider at backrider ang paglalagay ng barrier kaya umapela si Senador Ramon Bong

Revilla, Jr. sa National Task Force (NTF) on COVID-19 na ikonsidera ang desisyon nitong papayagan lamang ang

angkas sa motorsiklo kung maglalagay ng Do-it-Yourself installation barrier.

Sa sulat na ipinadala ni Revilla kay NTF chairman  at Department  of National Defense (DND) Sec. Delfin N.

Lorenzana, ipinaliwanag nito na hindi ligtas na lagyan ng barrier ang motorsiklo para payagang makabiyahe ang

mag-asawa, magka-live-in o mga taong nagsasama sa isang bahay.

“When you have a backrider, the weight has to be synchronized. As the rider weighs left, the backrider has to do the

same or else there’s a high chance of crashing. A divider between both riders will make this and balance very difficult

as there will be no tactile feedback between them. That barrier will also impact aerodynamics greatly, also

interfering will balance,” sabi ni Revilla, na isa ring motorcycle rider enthusiast.

Dagdag pa nito, bukod sa mataas na posibilidad na ang makeshift barrier ay maaaring humantong sa higit pang

aksidente sa motorsiklo.

Bilang alternatibo, iminungkahi ni Revilla sa NTF na obligahin na lamang gumamit ang mga rider at backrider ng

guwantes, face shields at full face helmet at hindi makagambala sa kinakailangang maayos na kamay at balanse sa

dalawang gulong na sasakyan.

“After all, both riders live in the same house where they interact in the same space without masks, share utensils,

and at the end of day, sleep on the same bed. The installation of a barrier on motorcycles for the purpose of

protecting them from each other seems unnecessary,” ayon pa kay Revilla.
