The City Government of Valenzuela under the administration of Mayor WES Gatchalian, wins the first Accelerating Reforms for Improved Service Efficiency Awards (ARISE Awards) of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA) during its 5th Anniversary event held at The Manila Hotel on May 29, 2023.

The ARISE Awards serve as a comprehensive recognition for both national government agencies (NGAs) and local government units (LGUs) in acknowledgment of their endeavors to enhance bureaucratic efficiency in the country as per the directive of President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos, Jr.

Government agencies had the chance to partake in four (4) categories of the ARISE Awards, namely: Compliance to the Electronic Business-One-Stop-Shop for LGUs or Digitalization of Services Award for NGAs, Adherence to the Philippine Good Regulatory Principles Award, Accomplishment in the Report Card Survey 2.0 Award, and Philippine Ease of Doing Business Reporting System Award.

Known for its reputation of being a business-friendly city, Valenzuela City was recognized as one of the eight Local Government Units (LGU) in the country which have successfully fulfilled the requirements of the ARISE Award across all four categories and received a prestigious crystal ARISE trophy with an emblem serving as a tangible symbol of the great achievement in minimizing red-tape in the local government.

Joining Mayor WES Gatchalian in receiving the award on behalf of every Pamilyang Valenzuelano was Business Permits and Licensing Office Head Atty. Ulysses Gallego.

With this award in hand, the City Government of Valenzuela will continue its mission towards its goal of creating a business-friendly and corruption-free environment for all the business entities in the city.
