MAHIGIT 50 libong pulis ang ikakalat ng Philippine National Police (PNP) para mangalaga ng peace and order sa gitna ng inaasahang All Souls Day at All Saints Day exodus sa mga lalawigan at maging sa Metro Manila.

Ayon kay PNP acting chief, Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., pinalalakas nila ang police deployment para matugunan ang inaasahang paglala ng daloy ng trapiko sa maraming pangunahing lansangan, mapanatili ang peace and order, at ayudahan ang publiko bago pa magsimula ang paglalakbay ng mga magsisipag-uwian at mga dadalaw sa mga sementeryo.

“We have started our soft deployment of police personnel nationwide to ensure that our presence is already felt as early as now. This proactive measure aims to ensure smoother coordination and preparedness before the expected influx of travelers later this week,” sabi pa ng heneral.

Simula nitong Miyerkoles, Oktubre 29 hanggang Nobyembre 3, ay mananatiling naka-heightened alert ang buong pwersa ng PNP para matiyak na madaling makatutugon sa mga emergency.

Bukod dito, inihayag din ni Nartatez na may 16,592 sundalo mula sa Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), at Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), kasama ang tinatayang 45,712 force multipliers, ang ide-deploy ngayong long weekend.

“As we expect large crowds in cemeteries, terminals, and major thoroughfares, ang utos ko ay siguraduhin na maramdaman ng ating mga kababayan ang presensya ng pulis—not to intimidate but to reassure. Our presence should give comfort and peace of mind to the public. My directive to our troops on the ground is simple: be visible, be courteous, and be ready to assist,” dagdag pa ni Nartatez.

Bukod pa ito sa 24/7 operation ng mga itinatag na checkpoints, police assistance desks, at mobile patrols ngayong weekend.
