TILA nagla-lobby ang mga dating lider ng Quad Committee sa mga miyembro ng 20th Congress na buhayin ang nasabing komite at ituloy ang imbestigasyon sa mga sindikato ng Chinese nationals sa bansa, katiwalian sa gobyerno at mga pagpatay.

Noong 19th Congress, binuo ang Quad Comm na nag-imbestiga sa Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO), Extrajudicial killings noong kasagsagan ng war on drugs, illegal drug trade kung saan nahagip ng mga ito ang anila’y “high-level corruption’ sa loob gobyerno.

Binubuo ito ng committees on Dangerous Drugs na pinamunuan ni dating Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, Public Order and Safety ni dating Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez, Human Rights ni Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante at Public Accounts ni dating Abang Lingkod party-list Joseph Stephen Paduano.

“Quad Comm 2.0 now becomes a necessity. We firmly believe that justice does not expire and must continue in the 20th Congress. The people have a right to know who benefitted from silence and who paid the price for speaking out,” ani Abante na nais isalang sa imbestigasyon ang kaso ng mga nawawalang sabungero.

“Kung totoo tayong naninilbihan, hindi tayo dapat matakot sa katotohanan. Justice requires memory. And memory means picking up where we left off, kahit gaano kainit, kahit gaano kahirap,” dagdag pa ng mambabatas.

Inayunan naman ito ni Barbers dahil bukod sa nawawalang sabungero ay marami pa umanong isyu sa drug war ang hindi nareresolba at hindi pa tuluyang nabubuwag ang transnational crimes.

Tinukoy ng mambabatas ang bulto-bultong droga na napadpad sa dalampasigan ng Pilipinas sa mga nakaraang buwan na hindi matukoy kung sino ang mga nasa likod nito.

“There were witnesses who were threatened. There were patterns of abuse that pointed to state actors. There were billions of pesos in questionable transactions. Hindi pa ito tapos. Quad Comm 2.0 must finish the job,” giit ni Barbers

Ayon naman kay Fernandez, marami pang sangkot sa mga EJK, illegal drug transaction at iba pang krimen na natuklasan ng Quad Comm 1.0 kaya dapat umanong ituloy ang imbestigasyon sa 20th Congress.

“Some truths were already out there. The problem was, we stopped just before they could be named in full. Now we must resume with urgency and courage. We owe it to the Filipino people to show them that this Congress does not fear the truth,” ani Fernandez.
