TININTAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ang Republic Act (RA) 12307 na nagtatatag ng 11 karagdagang sangay ng Municipal Trial Court in Cities (MTCC) sa Eleventh Judicial Region sa Davao City.

Nilagdaan ang RA 12307 noong Setyembre 18, na nag-aatas sa Korte Suprema na magtalaga ng branch numbers at tiyakin ang agarang pagpapatakbo ng mga bagong korte sa koordinasyon ng Department of Justice (DOJ).

“The Supreme Court shall issue the necessary rules and regulations for the effective implementation of this Act and, if warranted, the realignment of seats and existing branches and their territorial jurisdictions,” nakasaad sa bagong batas.

Isasama naman sa taunang General Appropriations Act ang pondo para sa operasyon, tauhan, at courtrooms ng mga bagong korte.

Kasabay nito, inaasahang magbubukas din ng karagdagang posisyon para sa Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) at prosecution service alinsunod sa RA 10071 o Prosecution Service Act of 2010 at RA 9406.

Ang RA 12307 ay magiging epektibo 15 araw matapos mailathala sa Official Gazette o sa pahayagang may pangkalahatang sirkulasyon.
