KINONDENA ng mga senador ang brutal na pagpatay ng isang pulis sa isang mag-ina sa Paniqui, Tarlac.

Sinabi ni dating PNP chief at ngayo’y Senador Panfilo ‘Ping’ Lacson na dapat ipatupad ng pulisya ang nararapat na parusa laban kay Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca, ng Paranaque City Police.

“If what’s on video tells the whole story, I enjoin the Philippine National Police leadership to show no mercy. They should spare no effort to make sure that he rots in jail. He’s the last policeman that they need in the force,” saad ni Lacson.

Ipinaliwanag ni Lacson na bilang policy recommendation, dapat isauli ng mga pulis ang kanilang issued firearms sa kanilang armorer o supply officer kapag sila ay nasa off-duty status.

“That said, they should not be issued Permits to Carry Firearms Outside Residence (PTCFOR) while still in the active service,” dagdag ni Lacson.

“The PNP should always uphold its motto “To Serve and Protect.” That includes taking appropriate steps to protect our people from scalawags in their ranks, whether they are on duty or not,” diin pa nito. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
