PINAGBAWALAN ng mga opisyal ng Bureau of Immigration (BI) sa Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) na makapasok sa bansa ang 11 turista mula sa People’s Republic of China (PROC) dahil sa hindi malinaw na layunin sa Pilipinas.

Ayon kay BI Commissioner Jaime Morente, ang mga pasahero ay naharang noong Huwebes sa NAIA terminal 1 nang dumating via China Southern Airlines flight mula Guangzhou.

Sinabi ni Morente, ang mga dayuhan ay mayroong entry exemption documents at temporary visitor visa, na kanilang tinanggihan nang isailalim sa secondary inspection ng mga miyembro ng BI’s travel control and enforcement unit (TCEU), pagkatapos na ipasa sa primary inspectors para sa karagdagang assessment.

Base sa mga dokumentong kanilang ipinakita, sinasabi ng mga dayuhan na inimbitahan sila ng dalawang telecommunications companies para dumalo sa conferences.

“They claimed to be employed as engineers in China, but when asked by Immigration Officers Lazaro and Laxamana about basic details about their profession as well as their alleged conference, they could not provide any,” pagbabahagi pa ni Morente.

Lahat ng nasabing 11 pasahero ay isinailalim na sa immigration blacklist. (JOEL O. AMONGO)
