UMAPELA kahapon si Deputy Speaker Rufus Rodriguez sa gobyerno na ilabas na ang P160 Billion halaga ng mga proyekto na nakapaloob sa FLR o For Later Release lalo na’t kailangang gumastos ang gobyerno upang mabuhay ang ekonomiya sa gitna ng pandemya.

“The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has effectively hijacked these funds by withholding them. The President should direct the DBM to immediately release the money,” ayon sa mambabatas.

Bahagi ng 2021 national budget ang nasabing pondo subalit hanggang ngayon ay ayaw umanong irelease ng DBM dahil kailangan muna ang go-signal ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Ayon sa mambabatas, labag sa batas na patuloy na i-hijack ang nasabing pondo bukod sa hindi umano ito makabubuti sa ekonomiya ng bansa lalo na ngayong panahon ng pandemya.

Bukod dito, nilalabag din umano ng Malacanang ang power of the purse ng Kongreso sa pagtuloy na pag-embargo sa nasabing pondo gayung nakadetalye na kung saan-saan ito gagamitin.

Ang tanging trabaho aniya ng Pangulo ay iveto ang ginawang batas ng Kongreso.

“It cannot be overemphasized that our people are suffering from the Covid-19 pandemic and are barely making both ends meet. We need to give them jobs and income, and the best way to do that is to spend funds for infrastructure, social services, and other projects. The government should be the biggest creator of livelihood opportunities,” ayon pa sa mambabatas.
