IPALALABAS ngayong Biyernes, Marso 11 ang P2.5 bilyong piso bilang first tranche ng fuel subsidy para sa mga tsuper ng public utility vehicles (PUVs).

Tinatayang 377,000 driver ang makikinabang sa subsidiya.

“The receipt of the amount by the driver will depend on the speed by which the DOTr (Department of Transportation) can download the funds,” DBM OIC Usec. Tina Canda.

Kinumpirma rin Canda na ang kabuuang halaga ay dinoble kung saan umabot na ito P5 billion.

“The EDC (Economic Development Cluster) agreed to double the amount for fuel subsidy so P2.5B will be given this March and another P2.5B in April,” dagdag na pahayag nito.

Sa kabilang dako, kinumpirma pa rin ni Canda na ang subsidy na makukuha ng kada driver ay dinoble mula sa P6,500 ay P13,000 na ang makukuha ng mga ito.

Sa ilalim ng 2022 budget, nasa P2.5 billion ang alokasyon para sa Fuel Subsidy Program ng Department of Transportation. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
