“I assure our people that we are addressing the situation. We stand by our position calling for the immediate withdrawal of Chinese vessels in the Julian Felipe Reef, which was communicated to the Chinese Ambassador.”
Ito ang inilabas na pahayag ng Defense department kasunod ng patuloy na pagmamatigas ng China na alisin ang may 200 Chinese vessel sa Julian Felipe Reef na ngayon ay nakatawag pansin na rin sa maraming bansa.
Kasunod nito, kinumpirma ni Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana na palalakasin ng Pilipinas ang kanilang presensiya sa West Philippine Sea sa gitna ng kanilang panawagan para sa pagpapaalis sa Chinese vessels mula sa sa disputed waters.
“We are ready to defend our national sovereignty and protect the marine resources of the Philippines,” ayon pa kay Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana sa kanilang inilabas na pahayag nitong nakalipas na Sabado ng gabi.
“There will be an increased presence of the Philippine Navy and Philippine Coast Guard ships to conduct sovereignty patrols and protect our fishermen in the West Philippine Sea,” pahayag pa ng DND.
Bukod dito ay araw-araw magsasagawa ng aerial patrol ang mga jet aircraft ng Philippine Air Force. (JESSE KABEL)
