DUMATING na sa Senado ang mas maraming ballot boxes na naglalaman ng Certificates of Canvass (COCs) at Election Returns (ERs) para sa pinal na canvassing para sa presidente at bise presidente sa Mayo 24.

Ayon sa Public Relation and Information Bureau (PRIB), dumating sa Senado ang 128 COCs o 73.99 porsyento ng kabuuang 173 COCs na inaasahang dadalhin sa Mataas na Kapulungan.

Nakatakdang magbukas ng session ang Kongreso sa Mayo 23, at tumayo bilang National Board of Canvassers for President and Vice President alinsunod sa itinakda ng batas.

Kabilang sa naihatid na COCs sa Senado ay mula sa Quezon Province, Isabela, Mountain Province, Lapu-Lapu City, Davao del Norte, General Santos City, Sultan Kudarat at North Cotabato.

Natanggap na rin ng Senado ang Overseas Absentee Voting COCs mula India, Lebanon at Italy.

“Both houses of Congress are expected to convene in a joint session on May 24 to canvass the votes for the 2022 presidential and vice-presidential elections,” ayon sa pahayag ng PRIB. (ESTONG REYES)
