NAGSANIB ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu, at mga opisyal ng National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA) para sa isinagawang physical examination sa iba’t ibang shipments sa Cebu noong Setyembre 25, 2023.
Ang nasabing joint physical examination ay pinangunahan ni Bureau of Customs – Port of Cebu District Collector Atty. Ricardo Uy Morales II, CESE, kasama ng Region 7 officials mula sa NICA.
Bilang pagsunod sa direktiba mula kay Deputy Commissioner of the Intelligence Group (IG), Mr. Juvymax R. Uy, na beripikahin ang derogatory information base sa request ng NICA, ang Port of Cebu ay nagsagawa ng physical examination sa subject 14 containers.
Ito ay sinaksihan mismo nina Port of Cebu District Collector Atty. Morales II, XIP Field Officer SP/LT. Saripoden S. Mutin, ESS District Commander SP/Capt. Abdila S. Maulana, Assessment Chief Marc Henry B. Tan, assigned Customs Examiners, PDEA K9 Unit, at NICA officials, kasama si Assistant Regional Director for Operations, Mr. Erwin Aviola, Mr. Jack Noble, Mr. Ed Duran, Mr. Jake Dacula, at Mr. Serapio G. Garabiles, Jr.
Binigyang-diin naman ni District Collector Atty. Morales II na, “Our mission is to secure our borders and ensure the smooth flow of legitimate trade. We, at the Port of Cebu, remain resolute in our mission to protect our country’s interests. We will continue to work diligently to uphold customs regulations and ensure the integrity of our ports.”
Ang BOC-Cebu ay patuloy sa kanilang mahigpit na pagbabantay sa hangganan laban sa posibilidad na mga pagtatangka ng pagpasok ng mga ilegal na kontrabando sa kanilang area of responsibility.
