PINANGUNAHAN ng Bureau of Customs (BOC) Port of Cebu ang first Visayas and Mindanao Assessment and Operations Summit sa isang hotel sa Cebu noong nakaraang Sabado, Setyembre 28, 2019.
Si Acting District Collector Atty. Charlito Martin R. Mendoza ang nagbigay ng welcome remarks, kasama si Atty. Edward James A. Dy Buco, Deputy Commissioner for Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group.
Tinalakay sa nasabing summit ang Methods of Valuation/Role of Operations in Revenue Collection na pinangunahan ni Dr. Jesus G. Llorando, Acting Chief of Liquidation and Billing Division-Port of Manila (POM) at Atty. Maria Liza Sebastian, Deputy Collector for Operations, POM.
Habang si Rechilda T. Oquias, chief ng Export Coordinating Division ang nagsalita naman kaugnay sa Rules of Origin and Philippine National Trade Repository (PNTR).
Si Atty. Yasser Ismail Abbas, director, Import and Assessment Service (IAS) ang nagpaliwanag sa National Valuation Verification System (NVVS) at iba pang values of reference.
Kasunod nito, ang lecture sa computation and permits patungkol sa regulated goods ay ginawa ni Romy Lloyd D. So, Customs Operations Officer (COO) III, FED-Manila International Container Port (MICP).
Ipinaliwanag din ang weight freight at iba pang shipping charges at air express ni Mr. Antonio Meliton T. Pascualm, CCOO at Mr. Dan Oquias, officer-in-charge, DHL-Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
Ang nasabing summit ay dinaluhan ng assessment and operations personnel mula sa Visayas at Mindanao ports.
Idinaos ito para lalo pang maging handa ang Customs officers sa paghawak ng assessment at operations functions nang naaayon sa taglay nilang kaalaman at talino na makatutulong sa pagtaas ng revenue collection at lalo pang pagpapaganda ng serbisyo ng Customs.
