MULING sasabak sa ibabaw ng ring si Tokyo Olympics silver medalist Eumir Marcial bago matapos ang 2021.
Mismong si MP (Manny Pacquiao) Promotions president Sean Gibbons ang nagkumpirma na may isa pang professional fight si Marcial sa huling bahagi ng taon.
Sinabi ni Gibbons na hanga siya sa ipinamalas ng 25-anyos na Pinoy middleweight sa katatapos lang na Tokyo Games.
“You know, I’m very impressed and I’m very proud of Eumir. Fighting at that weight, in that division, a hundred and sixty-five pounds, is not easy,” pahayag ng MP prexy sa Radyo Singko Power and Play ni dating PBA commissioner Noli Eala.
“I’m just so happy that he was able to achieve a medal, made the Philippines proud, made his family proud, made himself proud, and the Senator (Manny Pacquiao) and myself are very proud of what he accomplished,” dagdag niya.
Inaasahang magbabalik Amerika si Marcial sa Setyembre para makapagsimula ng training sa kanyang ikalawang pro boxing match.
Disyembre 2020 nag-debut bilang pro boxer si Marcial at nagwagi via unanimous decision kay American boxer Andrew Whitfield.
“Right now, Eumir has some business doing in the Philippines. He’s finishing his quarantine then they’re gonna have a meeting with the President. So, we’re hoping by the beginning of September to have him over here and absolutely he’s going to be in the ring somewhere, having another pro fight, by the end of the year,” sabi pa ni Gibbons.
