Mungkahi ng Comelec para sa 2022 elections COMMON EFFORT VS E-VOTE BUYING

AMINADO ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) na posible ang ibinabalang paggamit sa makabagong teknolohiya upang mamili ng boto ang mga tiwaling kandidato sa susunod na halalan.

Ani Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez, makatutulong ang common effort upang mapigilan ang nasabing aktibidad.

Tugon ito ng tagapagsalita sa inilutang na posibilidad ng electronic vote buying sa 2022 general elections, lalo na ngayong halos cashless na ang lahat ng mga transaksiyon sa bansa dahil sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Matatandaang nagbabala si Philippine National Police (PNP) chief P/General Director Guillermo Eleazar na posibleng samantalahin ng mga kandidato ang paglaki ng digital platforms at e-wallets sa bansa upang makabili ng boto.

Ayon pa kay Jimenez, ayaw nitong maging ‘alarmist’ ngunit sa tingin niya ay tama ang chief PNP sa naging pahayag nito.

“Not to sound alarmist, but I think the general (Eleazar) is correct. We’ve been saying that as much for the longest time. Ever since people started using e-wallets, we’ve seen that potential,” dagdag pa ni Jimenez.

“In fact, especially with the onset of the pandemic, we’ve seen that the majority of transactions have actually moved into that regime, into online transactions. Obviously, that’s keeping us up late at night,” dugtong pa nito.

Aniya, sakaling magkaroon nga ng vote buying sa pamamagitan ng mga e-money transfer ay hindi ito kayang resolbahin ng Comelec at PNP lamang at dapat maging common effort ito ng lahat ng mga ahensya na may kaugnayan dito.
