MAGKAKAROON ng katuparan ang layunin ni incoming President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. na “United Philippines” sa tulong ng United Congress.

Ito ang tiniyak ni Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez matapos siyang makipagpulong sa Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) congressmen noong Huwebes sa Mandaluyong City.

Tiniyak ng nasabing partido sa ginanap na pulong na kanilang ibibigay ang lahat ng tulong na kailangan ng Marcos administration para sa kanilang legislative agenda.

“Ito ang sinasabi nilang unity. Ito talaga ang mensahe ng UniTeam noong nangampanya sila at ito na nangyayari ngayon po sa House of Representatives. Nagkakaisa po ang House of Representatives behind [the] incoming administration at ito para sa kalusugan at kabuhayan ng lahat ng Pilipino,” ani Romualdez.

Bago sumanib sa United Congress ang PDP-Laban ay nauna nang nagpahayag ng suporta sa speakership ni Romualdez ang malalaking partido tulad ng Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), Nacionalista Party (NP), National Unity Party (NUP), Lakas-CMD at maging ang Liberal Party (LP).

“So we are looking forward to working together, bonding together in helping [the] incoming administration and his spirit, his message, his reason for a united Philippines,” ani Romualdez.

Isiniwalat din nito na isa sa mga plano umano ng susunod na Kongreso ay magpasa ng stimulus packages na tatawaging “Bayan Bangon Muli” o BBM Bill upang matulungan ang gobyerno na makabangon mula sa pandemya.

“It will allow the incoming President to harness the resources available to him during this closing period of 2022 and address the measures that are needed for the pandemic, hopefully endemic, stage of this COVID issue, and of course to harness whatever remaining resources to stimulate the economy and to reinvigorate it for the better[ment] of all,” paliwanag ni Romualdez.

Wala aniyang nakikitang balakid sa pagpapatibay ng nasabing panukala lalo na’t nagkakaisa na ang buong Kongreso para sumuporta kay President Marcos.

“Well we’re looking for a united and a very, very strong 19th Congress. In unity there is strength that they say that means we will have a political will to do what is right by the Filipino people. We have to address the needs of all Filipinos and we will be the House of the People and that unity is something that we can be very proud of. When we are all happy working hard together, we can achieve everything that we need to do,” dagdag pa nito.
