PINADEDETALYE ni Senador Chiz Escudero sa economic managers ang pagsasakatuparan ng tinawag nitong ‘very compelling vision’ ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos sa mga nais nitong mangyari sa susunod na anim na taon.

Partikular na nais malaman ni Escudero ang pagkukunan ng pondo sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa.

“The President has presented a very compelling vision of which the country should unite around. What follows is the hard part of funding those dreams,” pahayag ni Escudero.

Kabilang sa inilatag na programa ni Pangulong Marcos ang modernisasyon at pagpapalakas ng healthcare system sa pamamagitan ng pagtatayo ng specialty hospitals sa iba’t ibang rehiyon tulad ng Philippine Heart Center, National Kidney and Transplant Institute, at Lung Center of the Philippines.

Nangako rin ang Pangulo na palalawakin ang Build Build Build program sa pamamagitan ng Public-Private Partnership.

Nais ni Escudero na ilatag ng economic managers ang kabuuang halaga ng SONA programs at kung paano ito popondohan.

“Every government program carries a price tag, often hidden, while the purported benefits are highly praised. Lost in the euphoria is the fact that it is the people, and nobody else, who will eventually pay for them. The buck begins with the taxpayer,” diin ni Escudero.

Pinag-iingat din ng senador ang Department of Finance (DOF) sa pagpapatupad ng mga bagong buwis na makadaragdag pasakit sa taumbayan.

Kung ang panukalang pagpapataw ng Value Added Tax (VAT) sa Netflix at online digital transactions via e-commerce sites na Lazada at Shopee ang pag-uusapan, iginiit ng senador na dapar maglatag ng malinaw at komprehensibong plano para rito. (DANG SAMSON-GARCIA)
