PLANO ng Senado na isalang sa COVID-19 swab testing o sa reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) test ang skeletal force nito.
Sinabi ni Senador Win Gatchalian na nais nilang makipag-ugnayan sa Philippine Red Cross upang pamunuan ang testing.
Ipinaliwanag ng senador na inirekomenda ni Senador Richard Gordon ang Red Cross dahil kaya nitong magproseso ng 10,000 tests kada araw. Iginiit ni Gatchalian na mahalagang maisalang sa PCR testing ang kanilang workforce lalo’t magpapatuloy ang kanilang hybrid setup.
“Assuming that we will continue with this type of hybrid operation in the Senate, we should at least test the skeletal force as well as the regular employees who will come in and also the regular senators with the PCR,” saad ni Gatchalian.
Sa unang araw ng pagbubukas ng sesyon, 18 empleyado ang nagpositibo sa rapid test na nagde-detect ng antibodies sa katawan.
“So, if we could use the Red Cross test on the employees, only the skeletal, only those who are intending to come on a regular basis will be tested,” dagdag ni Gatchalian.
“Then we will have a safer place in the Senate because it’s not only the senators or the employees who can be infected but there are people who do come and visit the Senate who can possibly be infected,”giit pa nito.
