SA halip magtago sa Amerika at mag-apply ng asylum sa Canada, dapat lalaking harapin ni Sonshine Media Network International (SMNI) anchor Jeffrey Celiz ang kanyang mga kaso tulad ng inciting to sedition sa Pilipinas.

Hamon ito ni Lanao del Sur Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong kay Celiz matapos malamang nasa New York ito at mag-aapply umano ng asylum sa katabing bansa na Canada.

“He should be man enough to face his charges here. Nobody is persecuting him. I just want to remind him that he should not be too conscious of his rights as a person and as a journalist,” ayon sa mambabatas.

Si Celiz kasama ang co-anchor na si Lorraine Badoy at Atty. Israelito Torreon, abogado ni Apollo Quiboloy at iba pang indibidwal ay kinasuhan ng Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) kaugnay sa pag-aresto sa lider ng Kingdom of Jesus Christ noong Agosto.

May resolution na umano ang prosecutors ng Department of Justice (DOJ) sa nasabing kaso kaya sumibat palabas ng bansa si Celiz na ngayon ay nakatira umano sa mamahaling lungsod ng New York.

Bukod dito, may warrant of arrest din si Celiz na inilabas ng Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso dahil sa paulit-ulit na pagbalewala sa imbestigasyon ng House Tri-Committee sa fake news, misinformation at disinformation.

“What makes him so special? Is it because he has more resources than his other media colleagues here? One can only think of perhaps the vast resources he has for him to be able to live in upscale New York,” ayon pa sa mambabatas.
