PINALAWIG ng Commission on Election (COMELEC) ang voter’s registration hours at magpapatupad din ng rehistrasyon maging sa Sabado at holidays.
Ayon sa ipinalabas na kalatas ng COMELEC sa kanilang social media account, epektibo Agosto 23, 2021 ang bagong schedule of registration na mula alas-8:00 ng umaga hanggang alas-7:00 ng gabi mula Lunes hanggang Biyernes, at mula alas-8:00 ng umaga hanggang alas-5:00 ng hapon sa Sabado at holidays.
Ang isasagawang rehistrasyon ay kasama ang satellite registration sa mga mall, barangay, eskuwelahan at unibersidad at iba pang pampublikong lugar.
Ito ay gagawin sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ) o mas sa mababa pa nitong quarantine status.
“As per current guidelines, Saturdays are dedicated to satellite registration so that our field personnel can accommodate a higher number of registrants in more accessible and convenient places”, ani Spokesperson James Jimenez.
“However, the Offices of the Election Officer may conduct Saturday registration in their respective offices, barangays and other satellite sites is not feasible under the guidelines”, dagdag pa ni Jimenez.
Bukod mula sa COMELEC’s official social media channels, ang schedules ng satellite registration ay ipo-post din sa kanilang website, bulletin boards ng OEOs at city o municipal halls na may paunawa sa local representatives ng political parties at mamamayan.
Samantala, sa mga lugar na kung saan ay nasa ilalim ng Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) o Modified ECQ, ang voter’s registration ay suspendido.
Ang bagong registration schedule ay agad magiging epektibo sa sandaling ang quarantine classification ay bumaba sa GCQ, MECQ o ano mang mas mababa pang quarantine status.
Ang deadline para sa voter’s registration ay sa Setyembre 30, 2021. (JOEL O. AMONGO)
