KUMPIYANSA si Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na 50% sa bansa o 109 milyong populasyon ang magiging fully vaccinated laban sa COVID-19 bago mag-Pasko.
Ang pahayag na ito ng pangulo ay bunsod na rin ng ulat na may 23 milyong Filipino na ang fully vaccinated.
Sa Kalakhang Maynila, 77% ng mga residente ang fully vaccinated.
“The challenge is now to further speed up our vaccination rollout, especially in the provinces, in the key cities and municipalities to achieve our target of at least 50% of the country’s target population by the end of the year,” ayon sa pangulo sa kanyang Talk to the People, nitong Martes.
Nauna nang tinarget ng pamahalaan na bakunahan at gawing fully vaccinated ang 70% ng 109 milyong populasyon ng bansa sa Disyembre ng taong kasalukuyan subalit nagbago ito at naging 80% hanggang 90% ng populasyon bago ang May 9, 2022 national elections.
Ang COVID-19 vaccination para sa mga menor de edad na may gulang na 12 hanggang 17 ay inaasahan magsisimula sa Oktubre 15. Walong ospital ang nakatakdang lumahok sa pilot run sa Kalakhang Maynila na kinabibilangan ng National Children’s Hospital; Philippine Heart Center; Fe Del Mundo Medical Center; Philippine Children’s Medical Center sa Quezon City; Pasig City Children’s Hospital; Philippine General Hospital; Makati Medical Center; at St. Luke’s Medical Center sa Taguig.
“Again, I would like to ask everyone to go out and get yourself vaccinated, regardless of the brand. This is not just for your own protection but also as it is part of your civic duty to protect others. Allow us to turn the page to get everyone back to normalcy,” ayon sa pangulo. (CHRISTIAN DALE)
