NAKAHANDA ang Philippine Natonal Police (PNP) na arestuhin si dating P/Col. Eduardo Acierto at pitong iba pa na idinadawit sa smuggling ng shabu shipments na inilagay sa mga magnetic lifters noong nakalipas na taon.

Maliban kay Acierto kasama sa inisyuhan ng arrest warrants ni Judge Ma. Bernardita Santos ng Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 35 sina dating Customs Intelligence Officer Jimmy Guban, dating Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Deputy Director for Administration Ismael Fajardo, Chan Yee Wah alias KC Chan, Zhou Quan alias Zhang Quan, at mga  consignees na sina Vedasto Cabral Baraquel Jr., Maria Lagrimas Catipan, at Emily Luquingan.

Ayon sa PNP, ipatutupad nila ang court order at huhulihin si Acierto kasama ang pitong nabanggit na mga personalidad sa sandaling makakuha sila ng kopya ng  warrant of arrest.

Ayon naman kay PNP spokesperson P/Col. Bernard Banac, si Guban ay nasa pangangalaga na ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) noon pang nakalipas na April 17 na dinakip sa bisa ng arrest order na may petsang April 12, 2019 at walang inirekomendang piyansa.

Nauna nang inbsuwelto ng investigating panel ng mga prosecutors sa pangunguna ni Assistant State Prosecutor Mary Jane Sytat ang 32 iba pa sa nabanggit na kaso dahil sa kawalan ng sapat na ebidensya.

Samantalang inendorso naman ng nabanggit na panel sa Office of the Ombudsman para sa preliminary investigation sa reklamong paglabag sa Section 3 (e) of Republic Act 3019 (dereliction of duty and grave misconduct) sina dating Bureau of Customs (BOC) Commissioner at ngayon ay Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) director general Isidro Lapena, Fajardo, Acierto, Guban, at ang nadismiss na Port of Manila District Collector Vener Baquiran, at BOC X-ray Inspection Project head Zsae Carrie de Guzman.

Kasama ring inendorso para sa preliminary investigation sa tanggpan ng Ombudsman sina Customs Intelligence and Investigation Service (CIIS) officer Gorgonio Necessario, Customs Operating Office IV Dolores Domingo, BOC shift supervision Benjamin Cajucom, BOC X-ray operator at analyst Manuel Martinez, at ang mga empleyado ng Customs na sina Joseph Dimayuga at John Mar Morales

Matatandaang isinasangkot ni Acierto si dating presidential economic adviser Michael Yang sa operasyon ng ilegal na droga sa bansa.

Binuweltahan naman ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte si Acierto at tinawag niyang corrupt policeman na sangkot umano sa kidnapping, partikular sa pagdukot at pagpatay sa South Korean national na si Jee Ick Joo sa loob ng Camp Crame.
