DESIDIDO ba ang gobyernong supilin ang pandemya sa COVID-19 o sadyang pinababagal nila ang pagsugpo rito para sa kapakinabangan ng kanilang mga kaalyado sa halalan sa 2022?

Isa lamang ito sa mga katanungang umiikot ngayon sa ilang Viber groups kasunod ng inaaning suporta ng paggamit ng Ivermectin bilang isa sa mga posibleng lunas sa COVID-19.

Sa Kamara, maghahain ng resolusyon ngayong araw si Anakalusugan party-list Rep. Mike Defensor upang alamin ang mga dahilan ng gobyerno lalo na ang Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at Department of Health (DOH) sa pagtutol sa Ivermectin na sinasabing nagpapagaling sa mga COVID-19 positive.

“We need to hear the experts most especially the DOH and the FDA as the regulatory agencies on this matter and ask why the inflexibility against Ivermectin,” ayon kay Defensor.

Ayon sa mambabatas, sinusubaybayan nito ang debate hinggil sa paggamit ng Ivermectin na sinasabing nakalulunas umano sa mga COVID-19 patient at nagpoprotekta sa mga tao laban sa nasabing virus.

“I kept my peace knowing that the subject matter is best left to the experts as any policy pro or against may have dire effects on our people,” ayon sa mambabatas, dating vice chairman ng House committee on health.

“However, I want to relate my personal experience on the matter as I was infected by COVID three weeks ago and is now fortunately negative on the virus. I have remained quarantined to this day as there are still three people in my household that will have to be tested next week. I thank God that none of us turned out to be severe and our 4-year old Juliana was not affected,” ani Defensor.

Inamin ni Defensor na uminom siya ng Ivermectin dalawang beses sa loob ng 14 araw kasabay ng multi-vitamin na Lin Hua sa loob ng pitong araw, zinc at fish oil vitamins.

Regular aniya ang pag-inom niya ng multi-vitamin at fish oil kahit walang sakit at umiinom siya ng Ibuprofen at paracetamol sa unang pitong araw kapag nakararamdam ng sakit na normal na lamang aniya dahil sa kanyang yearly flu kaya hindi siya masyadong nag-aalala sa COVID-19 subalit nagpositibo pa rin siya sa nasabing virus.

“There is really no prescribed cure as for the moment but the meds and vitamins I took helped me endure and recover from the sickness which brings me to my point. Why is the FDA and the DOH gung ho about putting IVERMECTIN out of the market when there is no proven cure? Will they also ban ibuprofen and paracetamol when people with COVID also take them during sickness?,” tanong pa ni Defensor.

“The vaccines do not necessarily prevent COVID and we still don’t have a cure. Why the aggression and tenacity against Ivermectin? Several friend doctors have asked us for supply and they intimated that a number more are looking albeit secretly,” dagdag pa nito.

Maraming doktor umano ang gustong gumamit ng nasabing gamot kaya posibleng nag-research din ang mga ito subalit hindi matanggap ni Defensor na ipagbawal ito ng FDA at DOH.

“As for creating a new variant because of Ivermectin, who are we to say so? For all we know, the vaccines may also result to such situation,” ayon pa rito kaya siya magpapatawag ng imbestigasyon.

“I took Ivermectin. To be honest, I do not know if it helped along with the other meds and vitamins I took. But I am negative for the COVID virus now and that is all that matters. God guide us,” dagdag pa ni Defensor.

Noong isang taon, isang grupo ng mga manggagamot ang sumulat kay Pangulong Duterte para hilingin na payagan silang gamitin ang nasabing gamot subalit hindi pa ito tinutugunan ng pangulo.

Dahil dito, nagkaroon ng pagdududa na sinasadya ng ilang nakapaligid kay Duterte na pabagalin ang pagsugpo sa pandemya upang maging dahilan ito sa posibleng pagsuspinde sa susunod na halalan na papabor sa mga kasalukuyang nakaupo at magiging dahilan din ng pananatili nila sa paghawak ng ‘corona’.
