NAKAAMBANG magkaroon ng shortage sa mga guro sa Pilipinas matapos ipagpaliban ng Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) ang Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET).”There will be a shortage of teachers especially in the new normal where there should be fewer students in a class,” babala ni ACT party-list Rep. France Castro.

Partikular niyang tinukoy ang lugar kung saan ipinagpaliban ang LET gaya sa National Capital Region (NCR), Lucena, Romblon at Butuan dahil sa pandemya sa COVID-19 na nagsimulang

manalasa sa bansa noong 2020.
Bagama’t may request na ilipat sa ibang lugar ang examination testing centers sa mga nabanggit na lugar ay tinabla ito ng PRC at inabisuhan ang mga apektadong examinees na maghintay na lang

ng susunod na schedule ng pagsusulit.
“Another batch of education graduates in these areas will not be able to take the BLEPT exam and the employment of teachers in both the public and private schools hired under Section 8 of RA

10533 or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013 will be affected for their failure to comply with the requirements under the provision,” ayon pa sa mambabatas.
Ang BLEPT o Board Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers ay kailangang maipasa ng mga lisensyadong guro dahil bahagi ito ng kanilang requirements sa pagtuturo sa pribado at

pampublikong paaralan sa bansa.
Tinatayang aabot umano sa 2,000 senior High School teachers mula sa NCR, Cavite, Bicol at iba pang lugar sa Mindanao ang nawalan ng trabaho mula noong May 31, 2021 dahil sa pagpapaliban ng PRC ng LET at BLEPT. (BERNARD TAGUINOD)
