PARA kay Atty. Vic Rodriguez, pasakalye o panimulang hakbang ang imbitasyon ng tri-committee ng Kamara sa 40 social media personalities para sagkaan ang malayang pamamahayag.

Sa kayang Facebook page, inihayag ng senatorial aspirant ang aniya’y layunin ng unang Tricomm congressional hearing.

Malinaw aniya, base sa mga pinadalhan ng imbitasyon na nakatutok ito sa mga bumabatikos sa administrasyong Marcos.

“This is very clear based on the list of those invited that is actually a virtual who’s who of known and perceived critics of the Marcos administration. Right here we see the motive which is to deliver the message that they are being watched as their inclusion in the list implies,” bahagi ng FP post ng dating executive secretary.

Pinuna rin niya ang kawalan ng mga vlogger na tagapagtanggol ni Marcos.

“Where are the known pro-Marcos bloggers and influencers? Does this imply that only anti-administration or those critical of the Marcos administration are capable of fake news and disinformation? The entire nation knows the answer. As to why only one side of the political spectrum is being singled out, the Filipino people know the real score. This is only scratching the surface. There are more questions than answers.”

Isa pang binigyang-pansin nito kung may kakayahan ang Tri comm na tukuyin ang fake news at disinformation. Gayundin, kung sino ang naghanda ng listahan ng mga ipatatawag na “resource persons” sa naturang pagdinig.

Sa huli, ipinaalala nito ang isinasaad sa Bill of Rights ng 1987 Constitution.

“No law shall be passed abridging the freedom of speech, of expression, or of the press, or of the right of the people to peaceably assemble and petition the government for redress of grievances.”
Ang sinomang lalabag aniya sa alinman sa isinasaad ng nasabing batas ay maaaring papanagutin at tiyak ding lalabanan ng mga Pilipino na handang idepensa ang kanilang mga karapatan.

Hindi Sumipot

Samantala, marami sa mga ipinatawag na vlogger ang tila nabahag ang buntot na humarap sa mga mambabatas sa Mababang Kapulungan ng Kongreso.

Sa unang pagdinig ng Tri Committee na kinabibilangan ng House committee on public order and safe, public information at information and communications technology, tatlo lamang sa mahigit 40 vloggers na pinadalhan ng imbestigasyon ang sumipot.

Ang mga ito ay sina Malou Tiquia, Atty. Ricky Tomotorgo at Mark Louie Gamboa habang pito ang nagpadala ng excuse letter tulad ni Elizabeth Joie Cruz (Joie De Vivre) na ipinatawag ni Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr., dahil kung murahin umano siya nito ay wagas.

Labis na nadismaya si Abante sa nasabing vlogger dahil hindi ito sumipot sa pagdinig na tila natakot humarap sa imbestigasyon gayung ang tapang-tapang umano nito sa kanyang mga social media post.

Bukod sa show cause order, nagmosyon din si Abang Lingkod party-list Rep. Joseph Stephen Paduano na nag-aatas sa legal department ng Kamara na pag-aralan ang pagsasampa ng disbarment case laban kay Atty. Trixie Angeles.

“She (Angeles) is an officer of the court. She should respect the Constitutional duty of Congress,” ani Paduano dahil sa sulat nito sa komite, kinukuwestiyon nito ang legalidad at layunin ng imbestigasyon dahil labag umano ito sa freedom of speech na ginagarantiyahan ng Saligang Batas.
