NAGSAGAWA ang pamahalaang lungsod ng Navotas ng ‘simulation’ ng isasagawang COVID-19 vaccination rollout nito, sa Navotas Polytechnic College (NPC), kung saan naroon ang vaccine cold room ng lungsod.

“The drill will help us assess our readiness for the citywide COVID-19 immunization and enable us to see what needs to be improved on,” ani Mayor Toby Tiangco.

“The first batch of vaccines is expected to arrive this February and we need to ensure that we are set and primed to execute the campaign. We aim to inoculate 1,500 daily and we want it to go as safe and smooth as possible,” dagdag ng alkalde.

Ang katatapos na ‘simulation’ ang ikatlo sa serye ng dry run na isinagawa ng lungsod bilang paghahanda sa vaccination rollout.

Kabilang sa mga scenario ang pagresponde sa isang pasyenteng nakararanas ng “adverse reaction” o masamang epekto matapos maturukan at paglilipat ng mga bakuna mula sa NPC patungo sa ibang inoculation sites.

Naglaan ang Navotas ng paunang P20 million para sa COVID-19 vaccination program at layon nitong bakunahan ang 103,000 residente at hindi residente na nagtatrabaho sa Navotas at may edad na 19 pataas.

Lumagda ang lungsod ng tripartite deal para bumili ng 100,000 doses ng AstraZeneca vaccines, nagpadala ng order para sa 10,000 doses ng Moderna, at layong bumili ng 40,000 doses mula sa Pfizer.

“These brands emerged as top choices of Navoteños when we conducted our informal survey in December last year. However, we are open to receiving other brands from the national government,” pagtatapos ni Tiangco. (ALAIN AJERO)
