KINUWESTYON ni Senador Panfilo Lacson ang naging pahayag ni Health Secretary Francisco Duque III na blessing in disguise ang COVID-19 pandemic.

Kasabay nito, binanatan ni Lacson ang ilang personalidad na ginagamit ang paghihirap ng taumbayan sa COVID-19 upang isulong ang sariling kapakinabangan.

Ayon kay Lacson, isinasapinal na nila ang report ng Senate Committee of the Whole kaugnay sa sinasabing multi-billion peso scam sa Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth).

“From the illegal advance payments to unauthorized health care institutions in relation to the deliberate abuse of the Interim Reimbursement Mechanism scheme, to grossly overpriced
procurement of PhilHealth’s Information and Communications Technology equipment, we continue to be confronted by issues we hate to hear,” saad ni Lacson.

Tinukoy rin nito ang double the price purchases ng Personal Protective Equipment at face masks at posibleng ng face shields ng Department of Health.

“All these amid daily reports that many of our people,  like locally stranded individuals are being dumped in less than human living condition facilities for days or weeks, waiting for government
assistance and care,” dagdag ng senador.

Subalit sa kabila anya ng mga bagay na ito, maririnig pa mula kay Secretary Francisco Duque III na blessing in disguise ang pandemic.

“Yet, we hear the Secretary of Health saying that the pandemic is a ‘blessing in disguise,’ we know for sure we haven’t seen the worse for our suffering countrymen, health wise and their economic
