NANAWAGAN ng mas malalim na imbestigasyon ang pamilya ng isang Philippine Navy Naval officer candidate na nasawi umano habang nagsasagawa ng pagsasanay sa loob ng Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioqui (NSLG) sa San Antonio, Zambales.

Kinumpirma ng pamunuan ng Philippine Navy na isang male student na sumasailalim sa officer training sa Naval Education, Training and Doctrine Command, ang namatay sa pagamutan.

“The Philippine Navy mourns the passing of Officer Candidate Aldwayne B. Dulnuan, PN, a member of Naval Officer Candidate Course Class 47, who passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2026, at Ulticare Medical Center Inc. in Olongapo City following a medical emergency,” ayon sa impormasyong ibinahagi ni PH Navy spokesperson, Capt. Marissa Arlene Martinez.

Ayon sa ipinadalang text message sa media ng kaanak ng nasawing officer candidate: “My pamangkin sa pinsan died last week while on training sa Philippine Navy. The doctors said puno ng water ang lungs and might have been tortured to death.

“The navy officers assigned sa training nila just dropped him off sa hospital,” ayon pa sa kaanak ng nasawing Naval officer candidate.

Ayon sa inisyal na impormasyon, umaga noong Hulyo 21, 2026, matapos na makumpleto ang scheduled five-kilometer run sa Naval Station Leovigildo Gantioqui (NSLG), nakaramdam si Officer Candidate Dulnuan ng pagkahilo at severe chilling bago tuluyang nag-collapse.

Pahayag ng Navy, agad na nirespondehan at nilapatan ng first aid ng Philippine Navy medical personnel si Dulnuan sa NSLG Medical Dispensary. Ayon sa initial medical assessment, ikinokonsiderang cardiac arrhythmia, heat exhaustion, at electrolyte imbalance ang sanhi ng pagkahimatay ng biktima.

Inilipat ito sa San Marcelino District Hospital for further evaluation kung saan inirekomenda ng attending physician na dalhin ito sa Intensive Care Unit (ICU), at sa kanilang unang working diagnosis ay heat stroke.

Subalit inilipat din ang pasyente sa Ulticare Medical Center Inc. para sa intensive care, kung saan siya nilapatan ng lunas base sa unang findings na heat stroke.

Agad umanong ipinaalam sa pamilya ang kalagayan ng pasyente at nagdatingan din sa nasabing araw.

Ayon kay Capt. Martinez, “The Philippine Navy is currently looking into the matter to establish the facts and circumstances surrounding the incident. At this time, it would be premature to comment further while the investigation is ongoing.”

Pahayag pa ng pamunuan ng Hukbong Dagat: “The Command maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against maltreatment, abuse, bullying, sexual harassment, and all other forms of misconduct. ”

“Any violation of this policy will be addressed in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and institutional procedures. The Command remains committed to safeguarding the welfare of its students by ensuring that established safety measures and training protocols are consistently implemented and observed.”
