NAG-IPON ng lakas at hangin si Mark “Magnifico” Magsayo upang umiskor ng 10th round knockout laban kay Julio Ceja ng Mexico sa undercard ng Pacquiao-Ugas fight.
Bumagsak si Ceja sa first round mula sa straight ni Magsayo. Nakatayo ang Mexican at sinimulang targetin ang bodega ng Pinoy boxer.
Pagdating sa 5th round, habang bumabato ng suntok sa katawan si Ceja, nabigwasan nito si Magsayo sa panga, bagsak ang Pinoy.
Hindi nagbago ang takbo ng laban hanggang 9th round, kung saan panay ang sundot ni Ceja sa katawan ni Magsayo.
Matapos ang 9th round break, batid na naghahabol sila sa iskor, agad sinugod ni Magsayo si Ceja ng left-right combination pagsimula ng bell sa 10th round, hanggang tuluyan nang bumagsak ang Mexican.
“I just worked a lot on the straight punches. I kept working it round after round and when I saw he was hurt, I followed up,” lahad ni Magsayo matapos ang impresibong panalo sa ilalim ng MP Stable.
Dagdag niya: “I’m so glad for the outcome. I expected his style to make it happen and I expected a knockout tonight. I got knocked down and was surprised, but I focused my mind on what I wanted, a world championship shot. It’s my dream today and now it’s coming true. Hopefully my next fight is a world title shot.”
