BUKING ang pagsisinungaling ng limang tauhan ng Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) nang lumutang ang CCTV footage ng una nilang ini-report na buy-bust operation kung saan dinakip ang isang umano’y drug suspect.

Ipinag-utos na rin ni PDEA Director General Wilkins Villanueva ang masusing imbestigasyon sa nabunyag na ‘fake drug operation’ ng limang ahente sa Dumaguete noong nakaraang Hunyo.

Iginiit ni Villanueva na hindi niya kukunsintihin ang mga ilegal na gawain ng kanyang mga tauhan.

“PDEA will never condone any illegal acts of our personnel. We will leave it to the court while our personnel will also have their rights to be heard. I immediately ordered for the conduct of investigation on the said incident,” ani DG Villanueva.

Sinabi nito na ipauubaya na lang nila sa korte ang paggawad ng desisyon sa kaso.

Nabatid na nahaharap ngayon sa contempt of court ang limang ahente ng PDEA na kinilalang sina Nelson Muchuelas, May Ann Carmelo, Jose Juanites at Cheryl Villaver dahil sa ikinasang pekeng operasyon.

Iniulat na nagkasa ng entrapment operation ang limang ahente ngunit sa lumabas na CCTV footage, nakita na dinampot nila ang drug suspect sa kalsada at kunwaring nagsagawa ng buy-bust operation.

Sabit din sa kaso sina Sheila Catada, isang opisyal ng barangay at ang tumayong media representative na si Juditho Fabillar dahil hindi totoong nasaksihan nila ang sinasabing drug operation.

Tugon ni PDEA Information Office chief Director Derrick Carreon sa mga mamamahayag kahapon, “please be informed that Director General Wilkins Villanueva has ordered our Intelligence and

Investigation Service and the Internal Affairs Service to conduct parallel investigations against the concerned agents involved.” (JESSE KABEL)
