NAKAKUHA ng mataas na approval ratings ang Pasig, Quezon City, Manila, Marikina at Valenzuela sa NCR MAYOR COVID-19 Performance Survey na isinagawa ng RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. (RPMDinc).

Ang mga nasabing lokalidad ang nanguna sa mga local government unit (LGU) sa National Capital Region (NCR) pagdating sa kanilang job performance sa pagtugon sa coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) pandemic.

Batay sa survey, 86% ng Pasig residents ang pabor sa pamamaraan ng kanilang alkalde at City Government sa paglaban sa COVID-19 pandemic.

Ang ikalawa sa limang may pinakamataas na job approval ratings na naitala mula sa kanilang mga residente ay ang Quezon City (80%), Maynila (78%), Marikina (74%), at Valenzuela (72%).

Ang mga alkalde ng top-performing Local Government Units, na ang mga pangalan ay nakasama sa survey forms na sinagutan ng mga respondent, ay sina Vico Sotto (Pasig), Joy Belmonte (Quezon City), Isko Moreno Domagoso (Manila), Marcy Teodoro (Marikina), at Rex Gatchalian (Valenzuela).

“The survey was conducted with the intention to reassess the efforts done by the Local Government Units and its officials amidst the Corona Virus pandemic. The public’s reactions towards the leadership, management of local chief executives. Assessment of the effectiveness of the following initiatives: security and public order; welfare of residents through relief goods, financial assistance & distribution; establishment of health protocols & security measures in the city; food security (hoarding prevention; supply of basic necessities & monitoring of prices); efficiency of the efforts being implemented,” ayon kay Dr. Paul Martinez ng RPMDinc.

Samantala, naitala naman ang lowest approval ratings sa mga lungsod ng Pasay City (25 percent), Las Piñas City (26 percent) at Malabon City (27 percent).

Ang independent non-commissioned survey na idinaos ng RP-Mission and Development Foundation Inc. ay gumamit ng face-to-face interviews at may kabuuang 3,000 respondents upang bigyan ng grado ang performance ng kani-kanilang alkalde at city governments. (KNOTS ALFORTE)
