IPINAALALA ni United States Secretary of State Mike Pompeo sa gobyernong Duterte ang kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng free speech, freedom of the press at ng due process.

“I raised with my counterparts the importance [of protecting] the rights and liberties of all Filipinos, including free speech, a free press and due process under the law,” ayon kay Pompeo.

“Our embassies raised these issues here and around the world. We never forget the importance of human rights, the rule of law, transparency, justice wherever it is that we go,” sabi pa nito.

Napakahalaga aniya ng press sa bawat bansa.
“We have an expectation for free and open press everywhere. We communicate that to our adversaries, to our partners and friends,” ang pahayag ni Pompeo.
