NAGKALOOB ang U.S. government ng karagdagang Php66 million o $1.3 million sa Pilipinas kayat umaabot na sa Php203 million ($4 million) ang kabuuang ayuda ng U.S. government sa Pilipinas sa kampanya kontra COVID-19 pandemic.
Ayon sa US Embassy sa Pilipinas, nakipag-ugnayan ang pamahalaan ng U.S. sa pamamagitan ng U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), sa Department of Health ng Pilipinas at iba pang stakeholders para palakasin ang pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na makontrol ang paglaganap ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
“This U.S. government support to the Philippine Department of Health for its COVID-19 response demonstrates our longstanding commitment to our Philippine friends, partners, and allies in times of need,” pahayag ni U.S. Ambassador Sung Kim.
Sa pamamagitan ng nasabing dagdag na tulong pinansyal ay mapalalakas ng USAID ang kanilang suporta sa laboratory systems ng Pilipinas; paiigtingin pa ang case- finding at event-based surveillance; palakasin pa ang Sistema para maiwasan at ma-kontrol ang infections at maiwasan ang peligrong dulot ng pagkahawa-hawa.
This aid will enable the Philippines to expand its testing capacity so that more people who have COVID-19 will be able to access life-saving treatment.
